Shell Stop The Business

It has been almost one month this Shell gas station hold the business. Some said that there are some underground storage leakage that poluted the surrounding area. This gas station started operating at Cibubur since the middle of 2007. It stops now..

Neve Give Up !

Life is hard but this guy with his family never give it up although they dwelled in very small kioks. This family consisted 4 people; a father , an mother and their two small daughters, 3 and 5 years old. Stopping buying a bottle of drinkig water, i take this picture. And i saw their daughters played inside that kioks laughter happily.

Cibubur Highway Gate

This entrance gate is heading to Jakarta from Cibubur Juction. In the morning it is not crowded. The highway from the right side is coming from Bogor city. This morning is still gloomy but the rain has stopped since last night.

Angklung

A celebration was held by Bunda Hati Kudus ( The Mother of Sacred Heart ) kindergarten school at Kota Wisata Cibubur. These cute little girls and boys performed the Angklung musics. This musical instrument is made of bamboo with very precise measurement to get the music note. It is played by shaking it gently pto produce the musical sounds.

Night Raindrops

It was raining hard to night when i went back to Cibubur. There was a traffic jump at the highway. I turn off the viper and the raindrops fell on the frontglass glimmering by the carlights. I was so strange to see that rain drops pouring from the sky.

Bogor city will be proudly still as the abundance source of fresh natural water for the surrounding area, like Jakarta, Cibubur, Cibinong and Citeureup. So... Bogor city, please do us a favour by your water !

This fresh and natural water source from Bogor will be distributed to some kioks in Cibubur that then refining and demineralizing the water for sale as refill one in gallon.

It is cheaper than the brand one. Sometimes the price comparison will be 30-40 % . Now it is common to find that kioks . But who could guarrantee that the water is trully coming directly from Bogor ?

No Man's Chariot

Suddenly it is raining and this fruit chariot is then deserted by the seller, the owner. I can not find this chariot owner when i wanted to buy some starfruits. It was so funny waiting for the seller while he was not around there so i just leave. No business deal...

Man in Rain Coat

I take this photo from my car under a drizzle rain pouring from the morning sky. That is why the photo give some blurred effect. This man is fighting with the rain under his rain coat pushing his fruit chariot for sale. We call this type of raincoat " Kalong " means bat since it is just put on coat through the head , no sleeve at all . It is looks like the wings of bat.

It has been more than last two months, in Cibubur and the surrounding area, of course the nearest city Bogor, having the rain every day from the morning till night coming. The wheather is absolutely cool and frezzy.

The Last Frontier

This bamboo hill is still green and untouchacble by the expanding small city of Cibubur. Driving to south , you could find this small bamboo hill standing lonely gazing the Citra Grand complex real estate in front of him acroos the small river, where the local people cooperating with some business man do the sand mining for sale. If this happened for a long time the small river and this small bamboo hill will be gone forever.

Little China Legenda Wisata at Night

This complex now is steadily growing . Business is running well and kioks space already occupied . Many kioks open up to late. That is good. Five years ago , this complex is creepy at night mostly kioks is still left empty no rented or unoccupied. Now it is glimmering.

Buah Delima

The colour of these delima fruit is very truly tempting for me. This Punica granatum ( Latin ) fruit -originally from Himalaya and Afganistan or Asia minor area - will more abundance and will be more much distributed in many malls and street kioks especially prior to Chinese New year. Since the Chinese believe that you will have some more lucks by eating this fruit in Chinese new year eve. As you know that the seed of the this Shi Liu (Mandarin ) or Shak Liu ( Hakka dialect ) coloured in bright red symbolized the gems , pearl and precious stone. Believe it or not ?

The Early Morning Rain

It is so blue to have the early morning rain. It is so true blue . You will see Cibubur sky is grey with pouring rain over the small forest near the road. That small forest would be the last frontier of Cibubur city since this small city is now growing, expanding.

Klenger Burger at Cibubur

This outlet of Klenger Burger is newly open at Cibubur. It is about less than 6 months i think. It open 24 hours and it is so convinient to drop by. This pictures is taken at 10:30 o'clock. It is almost raining in the sky . I like the taste of this crazy dizzy burger since it is really different with uncle McD burger. The Klenger "dizzy " burger gives you a home made burger taste. I like it so. The bread is cushion and quite big although the price is higher than the Mc D.

Bixa Orellana-Merah Kesumba

This rambutan-look like fruits is called Merah Kesumba in Indonesian language. The Botanical name is Bixa Orellana from the botanical family Bixaceae. Thai people called him Kam Tai, Philipines called achuete and Malaysian called jarak belanda.

The annato, the name called by the Spanish who introduec this plants to Southeast Asia through Philipines island is a native plant of tropical America. Since then the shrub is spread as the commmon shrubs. The decorative furry red seed pods is very eye-catching coloured. Indonesian people symbolized the bright red colour as Merah kesumba-very bright red !

If you drive along way to Jakarta, you could find these shrubs grow all the way the high way from Cibubur to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah ( Indonesia Miniature Park ). Why dont highway management make it as the commercial plants by planting more plants ?

This Bixa Orellana has been using as one of the natural colourant in Southeast Asian cuisines. The red colour coming from the dry seed grounding as a powder. This is also used as a spices in parts of Latin America cuisines .

Imlek 2559 -Chinese New Year Celebration 2008

This Chinese images is not is Cibubur city area, i took this pictures at Citraland mall where the area is in West Jakarta , the area of China town. The Chinese new year atmosphere has been open in the air through the mall aver last 2 week before Imlek. I did not take the image of Imlek at Cibubur Juction ( CJ) since it is not quite unique enough. It is ordinary.

At Citraland mall this year, the celebration theme is The Indonesian Chinese Heritage . It brings the the big theme of the Indonesian Tiong Hoa Community with all the problems, the hope and the dreams for the future as the part of Indonesian community. In spite of the all ordinary things and even quite cliches about Tiong hoa, but this celebration theme ,they show is quite up to dated for this current situation that Tionghoa or Indonesian Chinese is not the outsiders , they are trully the unseparated part of Indonesian community from the beginning when this country founded by our founding fathers.

I think this year is the peak of Chinese new year celebration since 1998. Indonesian Tionghoa community, i think must be grateful for President Gus Dur. He is the one who make all this things happen !

Teakwood Door of Javanese Heritage

This teakwood door is displayed in front of a teakwood workshop . The workshop is going to phase out the business and try to have a big sales 50 % for speeding up the phase out. Last year i bought a teakwood bench here. The quality is good . Currently the teakwood quality is not as good as the old one since the teakwood trees is not quite old enough naturally. The market demand is high but the source is getting shortage in Java mainland. So they do a small teakwood cut then got chainsawed and sell to Jakarta and surrounding area where market demand is high and keep increasing.

This teakwood door ornament symbloized the kingly family and high society in Java . It is a banana hanging in the middle as the symbol of wealth and also the princedom. I think in many way the symbol of using bananas is also influenced by Chinese culture that use the same symbol in many aspects of live depicting the wealthness.

Vital Facilities Paralyzed

Thanks God i live in Cibubur !. I fell sorry for the Jakartans due to the regular flood. Kompas put this as the head news. What should i say ? Sorry guys...

On friday i also stuked for 2 hours under Tomang highway bridge infront of Mall Angrek. I can not move my car any inch. It was 11:30 when the flood took the road in front of Citraland Mall . From there and then all the road of Jakarta was stuck untill midnight.

It was raining since the early morning. On Friday when i went to the office i already got a glympse that something would be happening to Jakarta . Bogor and Cibubur sent thousand of tons of water to Jakarta. So it was !

At 19:30 when i was driving back home , i was really surfing free at the highway back to Cibubur since no car coming from the west due to stuck by Citraland mall flood. Driving back , watching thousand of cars freezed lining along the way heading to north and west. Jakarta paralyzed. President SBY got too !

Soekarno Hatta airport has been closed and shut down ! It was a meter high! Hey guys why dont you all not thinking move to Cibubur ?

Time Square Cibubur

This Time Square Cibubur was builtt around 2004 and the completion was around 2006. These building is imitating the European buildings. Inspite of running for 3 years this morning, it seems not so glamour as it has been promoted a couple years ago. The highrise apartment was cancelled due to not allowed by the government. So it is between the go and not-go situation now. Poor it is !
